Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron Quitman, Texas April 27, 2020 Press Release (10:00 a.m.)

Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron announced today that she is appointing Wood County Commissioner (Precinct 3) Mike Simmons to serve on the Board of Directors of the Wood County Economic Development Commission (“WCEDC”). Commissioner Simmons served on the Blue-Ribbon Task Force (“Task Force”) in 2019 and is familiar with the purpose, background, and function of an economic development commission. He has served as a Wood County Commissioner since January 1, 2017; is a long time resident of Lake Hawkins; and is active in his community and in Wood County. Judge Hebron stated, “Commissioner Simmons was a contributing member of the Task Force and helped the Task Force evaluate all facets of Wood County, including business development and growth. As a member of the Commissioners’ Court, he provided and will continue to provide great insight from a county government perspective.”
